Delay in sms message tone when a message is recieved

Have noticed this feature/bug - has anyone else? With the phone volume on (ie, phone not in silent or vibrate mode) and the phone screen having gone blank I find that the message sound doesn't play until I wake up the phone by pressing the power button. Has anyone come across a way of making the new message tone play regardless of whether the phone is awake or asleep?

Re: Delay in sms message tone when a message is recieved

Ok - found a solution. You need to install a 3rd party config app for Touch Flow called TF3D. Google it or grab it through; http://www.uberphones.com/2008/07/htc/diamond_tf3d_configures_touch_flo_3d/

Once you have it there's an option called "Wake up on receipt of new message" or words to that effect!

I'm presently attempting this now. I have already tried another option, but who knows, it may work for you. Plug your phone in to your computer [or Bluetooth] and run Windows Mobile Device Manager on your computer [disk comes with phone - alternatively, search google for it and you'll find a microsoft page from which you can download it]. Then on the top button of the Device Manager, there's a link to HTC Support web page. Connect to that, select your phone from the drop down menu, and then you'll be shown all available downloads for your phone - one of which is a hotfix for this problem

http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-diamondpro-tweak.html

The above is a link for a similar program to the Config thing. It has a bunch of advanced settings that will work on the HTC Touch Diamond 2 [and probably on the orignal diamond].

Once you have installed the .CAB file to your phone, select All Programs and then Diamond Tweak. There is an option to "Wake Up on New SMS" [option 2.2]

There's also a Diamond Hack on the same website somewhere. The reason I bring these up is because I had trouble installing the suggested program above
